292 WAYNE AVE STUARTS DRAFT, VA
June 24, 2021
Listing Agent: Roger Decker with Decker Realty
We had a blast exploring this newly listed property for the Deckers at Decker Realty. This is a one of a kind home built in 1877 that was built to withstand generations after. It needs a little TLC now to get it back to its original glory, but the bones are THERE. Gorgeous woodwork throughout the house including the original hardwoods, trim, and built ins everywhere. We loved the transom windows, original fireplaces, and the attention to detail throughout.
We had so much fun exploring this property with Roger and Monya because they always know the stories and history on the homes they sell. We were surprised to see the remnants of the summer kitchen and the two original boilers that were used to heat water for the summer cooking, along with the original summer fireplace. We were surprised by a vulture that took roost near that and scared the dickens out of us while we were exploring. Roger showed us the old bank barn that is full of potential for anything your heart would desire and even showed us the old carriage house with the original brickwork. Roger told us about the wheat that was there and how the disciples used to eat wheat in the Bible times and even went as far as eating a handful of wheat right in front of us!!! What a wild man!
All of this was even more beautiful because we were surrounded by 180 views that just took our breath away. A place full of history and stories needs to be brought back to life so new stories can be made for future generations. We can’t wait to see what someone does with this goldmine!

What Roger and Monya say about 292 Wayne Ave:
“FEEL THE HISTORY! Rare offering in the heart of Stuarts Draft of almost 100 acres of quality crop land for row crops and small grains. This type land is almost never available in Stuarts Draft, and needs no explanation....it is beautiful, open farmland with incredible views. The house is a complete throwback in time, and while it needs a lot of updating, it is extremely solid and has incredible potential to be a showplace. There is a huge bank barn that has potential to be a venue, and a lovely carriage house that is begging for restoration as well.”
