Justin reached out to us after we photographed his Airbnb and told us of his plans to propose to his dream girl, and of course we couldn't help but be a part of it! Both him and Kathryn are super into running....their first date was going on a run and then grabbing coffee afterward! So of course he wanted his proposal to be after a run.

It was a GORGEOUS morning on Little Calf Mountain, right off of the Skyline Drive. Johnney and I got up at 5am to head to the mountain and strapped on our super cool headlamps to do the trek to the overlook. Surprisingly, I didn't fall once!! We were trying to time the proposal and the completion of the run right at sunrise when the sun was soft and a gorgeous glow.

They were a little bit late getting up to the top but thankfully the Lord gave us a gorgeous morning and it didn't matter one bit. Justin brought her to the lookout and faked a selfie and while she was unaware of him reaching for the ring, he got down on one knee! Kathryn was completely surprised and was crying, and then laughing at Justin's reasoning behind his behavior and how he got the ring and surprised her.

We asked Justin to try to record his audio with his phone since we weren't going to be able to see them ahead of time, and the app decided to not work on him...but THANKFULLY our recorder on-camera was able to capture the audio (how does it do that from 50 feet away??)

We felt HONORED to be there to capture this precious moment. We can't wait to capture their unique wedding day on October 2021!
